Teeth

Owen got his first tooth early October and now his fifth one is coming in. He has got 4 front teeth and now has a molar coming in on the top.
Since he's a big boy now, he decided he wants his own "Big Boy" toothbrush and toothpaste.

October

Owen's first cupcake on his first Birthday!

We had Owen's birthday party at the house, where we had just under 40 guests. It was pretty crowded but we all had lots of fun.
Here is the Birthday Boy opening presents with daddy.

More cake...

His new crawl ball that he got from Mommy and Daddy.
Grandpa Mark came for the weekend to celebrate Owen's Birthday.
And for Halloween, Owen was a monkey. A very plump, yet fluffy, monkey :)

We're Back!

So as you may have noticed I haven't done any blogging for like two months. I don't really have any excuses besides that I've been a little busy and kind of lazy :).

Within the last couple months we have remodeled our kitchen, participated in the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk, I got a new job, Owen turned one, and we celebrated Halloween. So following are some pictures posts of the past couple months.

Step Up for Down Syndrome

October 2nd is the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk in La Crosse. This will be Owen's first walk; last year he walked in my belly.
This year Children of the Heart, which is the support group we are in, has decided to hace a Step Up walk instead of a Buddy Walk. This allows all the donations and proceeds to stay right here in the community.
Please help sponsor Owen in this year's walk and support a great cause. You can help sponsor Owen by visting www.firstgiving.com/alindow

We would love to see YOU at the walk. Early registration will earn you a tshirt and an awareness bracelet. You can register for the walk at www.firstgiving.com/coth
Thank you for all your support!

Grandfather Mountain

While on our trip to Tennessee we went to Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. It was beautiful!
Owen didn't cross the swinging bridge but enjoyed his time relaxing in his stroller...
My mom and I standing on one of the peaks/landings.
With all of the fog rolling through it felt like we were standing in the clouds.

The peak to the far right in this picture is where my mom and I were standing in the previous picture.
The tree branches only grow in one direction because the wind is so strong.

It's About Time

I feel like I haven't posted anything in like a bijillion years. I have been kind of busy lately. We returned home from a family trip to Tennessee about a week ago... which I've been meaning to post about. We went to visit my grandparents who had not met Owen yet. We had a lot of fun and I promise to get pics up soon.
Owen is doing great in therapy. Our main thing that we are working on is sitting. Owen has made so much progress. He will now sit propped on his arms for about one minute and about 30 seconds completely unsupported. We're so proud of him! We're also working on pivoting, which is something Owen seems to avoid. But we are now seeing little attempts on that too :).
We have also been working on remodeling plans for our kitchen. I am so excited to get things rolling, we just ordered cabinets, counters and hardware today.
Well thats all I have for now; I hope to get some pictures up soon :)

Nap time with Aunt Jessie

I walked into the bedroom to find these two sleepy heads zonked out on the bed.

Poor Baby O

Owen has pneumonia! He slept with Andy and I Saturday night and around 4 am we noticed that he was REALLY hot. When I took his temp around 7:30 it was 101.5. So I gave him some tylenol. After about two hours it had only gone down to 100.
Well I had plans to take Owen to my cousins baseball game. So when I took Owens temp and it said 98.7 we hit the road around 12:30. At around 3:30 his temp had risen to 103.2!! So to the ER we went.
Little O's oxygen levels were in the mid 80s so he got some oxygen. Then a breathing treatment, then blood drawn, then chest x-rays, and then a RSV test. I felt so sad watching him go through all of that. The nurses were holding him down for his xray and he was screaming and looking for me. Tears came to my eyes because I felt so helpless. Throughout everything he was just crying and looking at me with those sad eyes :(
After everything they came in and said that it was pneumonia. So an overnight stay was in order along with antibiotics, oxygen, and more breathing treatments.
So he is coming home with antibiotics and a breathing treatment for a week, three times a day. My poor baby O!! Love you!

4th Of July

I had planned on taking Owen to the fireworks but the weather had other plans. So we decided to do a couple fireworks in Grandma and Grandpa's driveway.

He did get a little jumpy during the larger ones that shot into the sky but he seemed enjoy it.

Summer Fun

Owens loves the pool...until his cousin tips him over.

8 Months

I had planned on getting Owen's pictures done every 3 months until he was one and then yearly from there. I went and got his 3 month pictures done and time slipped away and I missed out on his 6 month photos. So here are some of his 8 month pictures.

It's Been a While

I feel like I haven't done a post in forever. I have a video I've been wanting to post of Owen's new move, shaking his head "no". It's too cute.

In therapy we are working on extending his arms and putting more weight on them and sitting. Owen is doing really well, he will sit for about 30 seconds with support from his hands and with a little stool used like a table he will sit for about 5 mins! I'm so excited for him and can't wait until he can sit on his own with no support.

We bought Owen a Toy Story papasan chair. I'm pretty sure it's meant more toddlers but Owen fits perfectly in it and it is so cute.

Sensory Activity

Owen's PT suggested we do some sensory activities. So I put him in his bumbo and let him play with some yogurt. He got a little scared at first but then he realized it wasn't so bad. He didn't really play with it too much, but he did slide his hands around in it a little bit.
