I had planned on getting Owen's pictures done every 3 months until he was one and then yearly from there. I went and got his 3 month pictures done and time slipped away and I missed out on his 6 month photos. So here are some of his 8 month pictures.

It's Been a While
I feel like I haven't done a post in forever. I have a video I've been wanting to post of Owen's new move, shaking his head "no". It's too cute.
In therapy we are working on extending his arms and putting more weight on them and sitting. Owen is doing really well, he will sit for about 30 seconds with support from his hands and with a little stool used like a table he will sit for about 5 mins! I'm so excited for him and can't wait until he can sit on his own with no support.
We bought Owen a Toy Story papasan chair. I'm pretty sure it's meant more toddlers but Owen fits perfectly in it and it is so cute.

I'm Quilting
Thanks to Angi over at Life In Color I've been inspired to start a quilt. I orginially wanted to do one for Owen first but I figured I should get the hang of things first. So I'm starting a small one for myself..JPG)
Here are my strips so far. The color in between the blocks is a very pale yellow.
What do you think?

Owen's Pool
We bought Owen this cute turtle pool over the weekend. He was kind of not sure what to do in it but he seemed to figured it out. He kicked his little feet and splashed around.

My First Cry
Tonight was the first time I have cried about Owen having Down syndrome since he was born. My husband and I had a cookout tonight with family which included my niece who is two weeks younger than Owen. She sits up on her own, Owen can only stand the bumbo for a few minutes before he slumps over in it. She reaches for toys and passes them back and forth in her hands, Owen will hold onto a few select toys if you put it in his hand.
I know that I shouldn't be comparing him to her but I think that it's somewhat natural. I know that Owen will do everything that she is doing, it will just take him longer. I just want him to be the best he can be and I want him to succeed, which I know he will. Am I wrong for thinking what my child would be like if he didn't have Ds? Am I wrong for wishing he could do things now? I feel like I am.
